All my followers and fans are invited to join me at Spectrum Miami for the opening night party (Nov 30) where I will debut my latest collection of fine art photography titled “Scotland – Faith and Fortitude”. Faith and Fortitude is a departure from recent works in mood, style, format, and content. The entire body of work is produced as black and white images with a classic film-based look and feel. The style of my earliest black and white darkroom photography, which includes cold temperature development of Ilford Pan F film and prints on Ilford high contrast papers developed with Selectol, a warm tone developer, has been replicated using digital processing techniques. These images have the resolution, clarity, and intensity of images captured with large format film cameras. Some panoramas, such as the one above, span over seven feet in width and thirty inches height in their native resolution. These monstrous digital files were captured with the new Canon 5DS camera sporting a 50MP sensor and assembled into panoramas by stitching eight or more images together.
Individual large wall prints are offered on a print to order basis; however, patrons have the opportunity to acquire the entire collection of 25 fine art chromogenic prints produced in a compact “table top gallery” format. The “Art Basel Miami 2016 Edition” is limited to 25 units produced exclusively for the show, wrapped in genuine leather, and packaged in acid free archival box. The beauty of this packaging is that it allows fans of black and white photography to experience and share an entire collection of otherwise very large prints in a manageable, table top format while retaining the exact quality and production standards of a wall size print. Chromogenic prints are photographs produced using a photographic printing process with light sensitive silver-based papers. Giclee prints are produced using an ink jet printer.
The Art Basel Miami 2016 Edition is expected to sell out quickly. No orders will be accepted before the debut party on Wednesday, November 30 at Spectrum Miami.
