about samdobrow photography

In 2007, Sam Dobrow founded samdobrow photography, to pursue his passion for photography as a profession. Today, Sam operates a small studio in Roswell, GA where he regularly hosts meetings of the Alpharetta Creative Photography Coop (ACPC) and mentors other photographers in the creative application of lighting for fashion and portrait photography.

With 20+ years experience in sales and marketing, Sam is skilled at conveying concepts through verbal and visual methods. He is an established writer and public speaker. Sam serves as a reporter/photographer ("examiner") for examiner.com, an Internet newspaper with a presence in over 150 cities across the country. He researches, photographs, and writes stories about businesses in the Atlanta area.

Most of Sam's work involves communicating stories about people and their environment through words and photography. Environments may be straight forward as a street scene or cultural landscape, they may be contrived on location with special lighting effects, or they may be completely staged in a studio. Whatever the environment, the people in Sam's photographs have a story to tell and you can read it through the expression on their face.

Sam adheres to the principles and practices of several professional photography associations including ASMP, Advertising Photographers of America (APA), and Professional Photographers of America (PPA). Sam is active in the Atlanta photography community through his affiliation with the Atlanta Photographer's Guild and the Atlanta Photography Exhibit.
