About Cognitive Dissonance
Cognitive Dissonance is Sam Dobrow’s latest addition the the Surreality Collection and the Americus Gallery. Cognitive Dissonance is a 30″ x 50″ work of digital art created by combining numerous photographs. The landscape of White Pocket, Utah and astro-photography of the Milky Way formed the back drop for the creative composition. The title of the artwork “Cognitive Dissonance” refers to a psychological state of conflict between a person’s behavior and their belief system. It occurs when a person believes something but behaves contradictory to those beliefs and is forced to deny the the incongruence. Sam Dobrow’s Cognitive Dissonance asks the viewer to sort out the conflicts between what they perceive as true and the reality that surrounds them.
