In April 2023, Sam Dobrow journeyed to Chilean Patagonia where he spent eleven days exploring and photographing the landscape and people of Torre del Paine. Torre del Paine is characterized by a unique geography. Several torre or towers protrude up from the flat plains in southern Chile. These towers form an iconic backdrop for photography. Add volatile and dangerous weather to the dramatic geography and you have the ingredients for amazing color and black and white photographs. The Gaucho Culture portfolio is presented in classic black and white photography. It focuses on the people of Chilean Patagonia, their lifestyle, and attachment to the land.
