Why Should I Shop Art Galleries and Art Fairs?
Art is personal. There’s no better way to connect with a work of art than to see it in person. There is a certain quality looking at the craftsmanship, the colors, the details, the presentation that can not be fully appreciated online. That’s the beauty of gallery exhibitions. Galleries also offer the opportunity for immediate gratification. You can walk out the door with a new work of art and enjoy it immediately in your home or office.
Does Sam’s Art Cost More in an Art Gallery?
Short answer, No. As an artist, I understand that art galleries are an important part of the marketing equation and my prices at galleries are always the same as online. Running a gallery costs money. There’s the cost of rent, electricity, insurance, and art-educated personnel. When an artist sells his art in a gallery, the artist pays a commission which can be as much as 80% or as low as 20% of the sales price. Though most galleries work on a 40% – 60% commission structure. Some buyers will try to circumvent the gallery by contacting the artist and offering a lower price somewhere between the offer price and the artist’s net proceeds. Many times it may work. But, if a gallery learns about the transaction they can, and rightfully should, drop the artist and the buyer from their business lists. If a gallery can’t earn commissions, they won’t be able to keep the doors open to provide that in-person art experience so many collectors expect. Without retail art galleries, artists may never reach collectors and high net worth individuals.
How Does Sam Support Sales by Retail Galleries?
I want to support exhibiting galleries so fans can experience my art – in person. Sophisticated art collectors understand the value that retail galleries provide from both the emotional experience of viewing artwork as well as from the gallerist’s advice. To further support the galleries showing my art, I’m giving people an incentive to visit the galleries and experience my artwork. Purchases made from an exhibiting gallery will be eligible for a $250 cash rebate from me.
Rebate Offered When Buying from Exhibiting Galleries
I am currently offering a $250 cash rebate to buyers who purchase any 20″ x 30″ (600 sq inches) or larger pieces of my artwork from an exhibiting gallery. It’s pretty easy to get the rebate. Buy the art then complete the form on this page. Upon verification of the sale with the gallery, I will mail you a check for $250. Please visit the galleries below. Experience and buy my art.
